Raise your hand if you’ve been looking for some newwinter boots.

Heels can dress up an outfit, lengthen your legs, and just make you feel a little more special. But for both safety and temperature reasons, you’re probably not going to take to the snow in a pair of stilettos. Alternatively, a pair of warm snow boots might be practical, yet they might not be as confidence-boosting.
In a way, wedge boots split the difference: They’re not going to leave your feet out in the open and offer a dressier take on standard winter boots. They don’t have to be super tall either — below, we found options starting at $40.
Eurosoft Falicia Boot, $90 (Save $39)
DSW

$129$90 at Dsw.com
These Eurosoft boots have a high shaft (though it doesn’t go over-the-knees like Hudson’s), which is great if warmth is a top priority, and they also have a 2-inch heel that looks manageable. Zippers are also on the insides of the boots, so they’re hidden to outsiders, yet easier for wearers to wriggle on and off.
Aerosoles Flatform Heel Tall Shaft Boot, $77 (Save $113)
Aerosoles

$190$77 at Aerosoles.com
The Aerosoles Flatform Heel Tall Shaft Boots look like they’d fit a little bit tighter around the calves, and they honestly remind us of a knee-high sock. Like the previous pair, they have a 2-inch heel, but despite this, one shopper compared them to wearing tennis shoes. They’re on super sale for $113, though some sizes are already sold out.
Vivaia Margot Wedge Bootie
Vivaia

$149 at Vivaia.com
If you’re wearing thick denim or roomy fabrics like satin, you might not need over-the-knee styles. In that case, consider a shorter pair, like these Vivaia booties. The insole is both cushioned and patterned for comfort and pressure relief, and the water-repellent knit material is stretchy, so they can accommodate tights, thin or thick socks, or even bare feet. Also, celebs like Emma Roberts, Selena Gomez, Scarlett Johansson, and Katie Holmes have wornother styles from the brand.
Athlefit Ankle Wedge Booties, $52 (Save $38)
Amazon

$90$52 at Amazon
One shopper, who spent two weeks in Scotland and Ireland, wore the khaki color for “walking around town, on short hikes, on the beach, out to dinner, at a party, through the airport, through puddles, up and down hills.” On top of that, they had a broken toe before jetting off, but the shoes “did not affect it at all.”
“I wear them almost every day to work where I’m on my feet for a good five hours of the day,”a second shopper shared. “I had a lot of people think they were the brand name ones.” Scoop them up in black, khaki, brown, and more colors, and choose from sizes 5.5 to 11.
