For years , every time we so much as stir a toe out of state , I ’ve put cemeteries on our travel path . From garden - alike expanses to overgrown boot mound , whether they ’re the terminal resting places of the well - experience but not that significant or the important but not that well - known , I love them all . After realizing that there are a circumstances of taphophiles ( cemetery and/or gravestone enthusiasts ) out there , I ’m at long last putting my archive of interesting gravestone to honorable economic consumption .
Cliche as it may be , Jimmy Stewart really did have a marvelous life . You already sleep with about his illustrious playing career that garner him a Golden Globe , an Academy Award , and parts in some of the most iconic pic in Hollywood account . But Stewart was also an accomplished Brigadier General in the Air Force , rising from individual to colonel in just four eld and fly charge during WWII that earned him the Croix de Guerre , the Air Medal , and the Distinguished Flying Cross . He dated many of the most beautiful and completed women in Hollywood before steady down down with married woman Gloria at the age of 41 . He adopted Gloria ’s two Word ; they later had twin daughters . Later in life , Stewart ’s investments in real estate , oil Herbert George Wells , and air made him a multimillionaire . Though he know a long and eventful sprightliness , it could have been even longer . After a foresighted string of ailment ranging from bloodline clots to maverick heartbeat , Stewart was due to have his SA node exchange in December 1996 . His darling wife of 44 years had died of lung cancer less than two days prior , leaving him utterly heartbroken . Stewart told his doctor not to bother with the pacemaker , prefer to let thing encounter naturally . They did — on July 2 , 1997 , a roue coagulum lodged in his lungs , do a heart attack that would kill him at once .

Despite his icon status and immeasurable contributions to the film industry , Jimmy Stewart ’s grave is quiet and retiring .
