Browsing apps in the App Store is n’t quite reprehensible , but it ’s by all odds not optimal for finding fantastic apps . Besides Giz ’s owniPhone app coverageandroundups , there arefour other ways to find buried goodness .
TheAppleBlog place out four different site that make it way easier to find the quality app gems that are wallowing , impotently , in thetoxic sump of utter crapthat makes up most of the App Store .

First up ( and most highly recommend of the bunch ) isAppBeacon , which require an account , and you pass over what apps you own , like and dislike , dribble out the crap you ’re not concerned in ( or that ’s just Irish bull ) and bookmarking what you might wanna check out . Unfortunately , there ’s no good word system progress - in yet establish on what you do like , but that ’s the next logical step .
AppShopperis from MacRumors ’ Arn Kim , and it shows you the new and mostly recently update apps , which you could trickle by pricepoint and even price changes , so you could see when an app you want gets cheaper .
Apptismis similar to AppBeacon , but has deeper , more customizable filter to get really specific about what you ’re looking for . The orca feature is its Preview listings , which encourage devs to post screenshots and other info about approaching apps they ’re working on .

iPhonexeis apparently pretty crappy and ugly , but the value is that it lists apps for jailbroken sound too .
Update : A bunch of readers recommend the 99 - cent appAppSniperto track app damage and when they get cheaper , from your iPhone , no less .
