Hunter Schaferis reflecting on the loss of herEuphoriacostarAngus Cloudnearly one year afterhis shocking death.
In a new interview forGQ’s Creativity Issue, the 25-year-old actress shared, “I’ve never had a friend that I was that close to and that was my age pass before.”
“It’s really surreal,” she said as she wiped away tears. “It doesn’t make sense. And yeah, it’s new. It’s a new kind of grieving.”
Schafer shared that grief about Cloud “comes randomly,” adding, “It will hit me when I’m on the f—ing toilet. It’s really … I don’t know. Grief is f—ing weird.”

She also shared her fond memories of her late costar, who portrayed Fezco (a.k.a. “Fez”) on the drama series.
“People really fell inlovewith Angus,” she said. “He was really one of the heartbeats ofEuphoria.”
“It’s always the people that are just kind of a little too good for the world and a little too pure,” she added. “He was a f—ing angel. He was sunshine.”

Cloud’s familyconfirmed to PEOPLE in July 2023 that the actor had died at age 25.
Schafer was among theEuphoriastars whopaid tributeto Cloud in the wake of his death.

She continued, “Angus was a sunshine. to have known his warmth, his light, and his love was nothing short of a gift. i’m so grateful to have shared so many enormous fits of laughter, so many sweet moments, and the joy of getting to make something together that we loved so much. i love you angus 💗 thank you for everything.”
