Donatella Versacehandled a recent event emergency like the total icon she is.
On March 9,TMZ reportedthat Italian fashion designer wound up stuck in an elevator for close to 15 minutes before co-hosting an event withDwyane Wadeat the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
According to the outlet, Versace, 68, was with her publicist, assistant, security and the head of Versace public relations when the incident occurred.

Fortunately everyone, including Versace who seemed rattled as she slowly walked away in her sky-high heels from the elevator, was able to remove themselves from the incident unharmed.
TMZ also shared that the fire department arrived to examine the elevator shortly after.
Meanwhile, Versace carried on with the celebratory evening as she was named the organization’s global ambassador and donated $50,000 to the Los Angeles LGBT Center. She even joked about the accident while making her speech onstage.
“I feel so honored to be here tonight. It’s so emotional for me — but also because I was stuck in the elevator. I thought I was never going to make it to this roof, but I did!” she quipped.

At the fundraiser, Wade — who, along with wifeGabrielle Union, joined daughter 16-year-oldZaya Wade, an LGBTQ+ activist who came out as transgender in 2020 — also matched the $50K donation in support of healthcare, legal aid, housing, food and nutrition, education, employment, and more to LGBTQ+ people in need, according to the center’s website.
Versace recently also celebrated the appointment ofOppenheimeractor Cillian Murphy as the face of the label’sIcons menswear collectionand campaign, launching on April 3.
