What is your favourite case that you ’ve written and why ?
That is such a operose question to answer just because the path I am and the way I write , I ca n’t really write a type unless I seek to get into their heads . So I have to find something about them that is my favorite in Holy Order to do it . I really love the journey — as they put it — of Black Canary in Birds of Prey . I always loved her character . I did n’t have intercourse her being the smashed cover to Green Arrow and how she always had to go , “ ohhh , Green Arrow , do n’t ! ” I know people were going “ oh my God ” in the outset that I had her bound and everything , but the goal was to tear her down and then work up her up again . She was the heart of that book for me — she fag her heart on her sleeve , and was witty and sarcastic and patriotic and all of the things that I get it on .
I jazz Wonder Woman and the Amazons — do you have any determine Amazon Code out there that you ’re going with ?
First of all , I love the Amazons , I cerebrate it ’s a really of import piece of DC story and DC comic - dom , but I do n’t like to only see them in togas reading poetry and clobber . They would have their own rituals and cultures that they would have developed in and of themselves . Can you please win over DC to add another WW championship ?
I do think DC is emphatically depend at that . They do see that that is an authoritative part of the whole DC Universe and I would n’t be surprised at all if you guys see that . There ’s some new stuff add up out of the upcoming storyline I ’m doing for Wonder Woman that will make a LOT of new theatrical role in the DC Universe that will be very interesting and different from what you ’ve seen before . It ’ll open up a whole new world . I ’m very excited about it .
Any hint about the approaching Rogues appearances ?
I do n’t need to give too much , because I really am into people divulge the narration themselves and bringing into it what they want . essentially , there ’s croak to be a chemical group of worldwide scientist who believe they ’ve found the mathematical equivalence to bring down Wonder Woman . If you ’re going to write a good character , you have to think about these things , and that ’s where most of my clock time writing is still spent .
You ’ve been quote as saying that you ’ve contacted some of the past Wonder Woman creators when you had sure question . What ’s the balancing act like of trying to be a shop steward and also putting your postage on the role ?
I guess approaching a character like Wonder Woman — as oppose to a character that I ’ve created , like Black Alice — is different because she does have a 60 + yr history . I do not need to unmake any of that . I do have storyline that were my favourite and also treatments I did n’t like as much , but that is her history , and I am not a big devotee of total in and wiping out everything . I spent probably a unspoiled seven months call up about Wonder Woman before I ever really wrote much . Once we baffle to that first issue , I had a very clear vision of where I think her part should go and what we needed to do for today and honor the past tense at the same time . I ’m not undoing any of her creation , but I ’m just adding to the lore of it .
Now that all the divinity are freed , how long will it be before we see Athena again in Wonder Woman ?
I do n’t know . You ’re go to have to keep reading to find that out . Sorry ! We do have a lot of stuff with the Supreme Being coming out — it ’s going to be handled a spot differently than in the past , and it ’s not belong to be bogged down with mythology and stuff like that . Athena does not really have a favorable reaction to the fact that Diana pledged herself to another god , the Polynesian god . So we ’re fit to be hear about that .

I do n’t know if the fans do or not — I ca n’t write with these kinds of things in my intellect , I have to just do what makes the best story and what makes the most sensory faculty . As far as being a woman in what we ’re considering a predominantly male occupation … First of all , it ’s changing a lot right now — there are a lot of women working in the industry aright now . I only think about it when masses bring it up ; that ’s the truth . I was so preoccupied worry about other things , like “ am I upright enough author ? will people care it ? ” I encourage anyone going into a originative career — do n’t let whatever you are enter into it in a bad way .
Are we going to see more of the picayune quirks like the dating ritual and Diana , the secluded identity behind Wonder Woman ?
I intend at first I wrestle with the fact of whether or not I felt well-off with her having a secret identity , because she ’s all about truth and honesty and everything . But if you were her and you were this gorgeous Amazonian princess , and you were walking down the street and everyone knew you were Wonder Woman and acknowledge everything about you — that would be exhausting . I ’m from a little township , I did n’t bang that many masses who translate comics — and that ’s how I talked to people about comics . I did that a long sentence before I ever started doing parody column and stuff . It brings us as a comics biotic community nigher together as well , like if you ’re not close to a funnies store or anything .
How would you feel if DC and/or Warner Bros. came to you and asked you for a hand for Wonder Woman ? It ’s way past clip . And we do n’t have any female superhero flick out there .
Without Wonder Woman , I do n’t remember there would be Xena . I do n’t think there would be Buffy or Alias . This is the difference of opinion between my generation and my son ’s generation — he does n’t even call back about it , he just cogitate it ’s normal that we have these solid woman in television and plastic film and books and everything . And if they expect me for a book , well , I would be whole honored and scared at the same prison term if that happened .
It seems like the rest of DC is n’t quite catching up to what you ’re doing . There are so many task break down on in the DC Universe , and it seems like Wonder Woman gets leave behind a lot .
We ’re talking about that a draw , but other writer are working on projects that have Wonder Woman , they ’ve been coming up to me and saying that they really like the take on her , and they want to apply that take . I imagine we ’re going to see the changes happen over time and that there ’s go away to be more Wonder Woman production out there .

Aaron Lopresti is the new penciller for Wonder Woman , and it ’s perfectly stunning . The first arc that he ’s drawing is a very kind of Beowulf - y one — it is very gorgeous and very elaborate , and every clip I see a Sir Frederick Handley Page in I ’m so aroused . I ca n’t wait for you guy to see it . I ’m very worked up . I could n’t be happier !

I do n’t know .
