As an entrepreneur and mom of three,Ayesha Curryhas to let something fall through the cracks occasionally — and she’s totally okay with that.
In a cover-story interview forParentsmagazine’s March issue, the cookbook author, 29, reveals her secrets to running a less-than-perfect (but loving) household.
Talking about the rules she has established for her family — including sonCanon W. Jack, 7 months, and daughtersRyan Carson,3½, andRiley, 6½, plus her NBA star husbandSteph— Curry explains to the outlet, “The toughest one for us to follow is no phones at the table.”
“Of course, there are those moments when the kids do something super cute and you just have to record it,” she continues. “But we really try to implement the no-phones rule. Our kids love being at the table together, talking about their day, singing songs and telling jokes. It’s a special time.”

The host of the upcoming ABC seriesFamily Food Fightalso shares that she has many of the same problems as non-celebrity parents when it comes to feeding her kids.
“In our house, you’re definitely not getting dessert if you don’t eat your dinner!” she exclaims. “But we do throw the rules out the window once in a while. We love to havemovie night with the kids wherewe eat popcorn, ice cream, and then breakfast for dinner.”
She adds that things get a little more hectic during the week. “I’m not going to sugarcoat it — weekday breakfasts are tough,” Curry admits. “Sometimes it’s akids’ protein bar or handfuls of fruitserved up on paper towels and eaten in the car.”

Despite these minor struggles, she has figured out an easy way to get her kids to eat their veggies, she tells the outlet.
She continues, “That said, Riley doesn’t like mashed potatoes! I don’t know why; maybe it’s a texture thing. Ryanwill eat anything. She’llsit there and down oysters.”

The Curry family is a tight-knit group, which the mom raved about in an interview with PEOPLE this past November.
Explaining how she and Steph, 30, chose their son’s moniker, Curry said, “It’s so funny. His name was the first name we picked out, and wepicked it out on our honeymoon.”
“We had his name picked out and then we had another girls’ name picked out that we didn’t end up using for Riley,” theCoverGirlambassador continued, explaining that “something just didn’t feel right.”
“But Canon always stuck with us,” Curry said. “France is one of our favorite places to vacation, and so his name’s actually Frenchand it means ‘young wolf,’which Stephen loved because we kind of consider ourselves a wolf pack.”
