The new version of Apple ’s iPhone operating arrangement come with unexampled emojis , the pop emoticons that are often used in texting and electronic mail , specially by youthful tike and nerdy adults like me . Two of these new pictograms represent gay and lesbian couples for the first meter .
The icon are placed next to the former kinship - link up emojis showing a heterosexual yoke holding hands and a heterosexual twosome with a boy . One show two men holding hands . The other shows two women in the same berth .
From Japan to the world
Emojis commence in Japan . Meaning picture ( e ) and letter of the alphabet ( moji ) , the pictograms quickly become a standard across this highly visually orient culture . Apple introduced an emoji keyboard when it got the iPhone into the Nipponese market , knowing that they were rudimentary to compete there .
But then Westerners , fascinated by their cuteness , quickly take on them too . Software appeared to enable that particular Apple emoji keyboard in any iPhone or iPad . Every child and nerdy adult with an Apple gimmick quickly espouse them , and emojis spread like wildfire . Now you’re able to chance them everywhere .
Apple has greatly amplify the emoji pallet with the new iOS 6 , including these two gay and lesbian ikon which were n’t present in iOS 5 . I would n’t be surprised if same sex twosome with babies come out in iOS 7 .
